Lucy had searched high and low for a salon that could offer her that feel-good formula but never quite found what she was looking for. This obvious and often frustrating gap in the market planted the seed for Rose + River, which Lucy launched in 2019.

After losing both her parents in a short space of time, she took a huge leap of faith, leaving her career in fashion to start her own business and, over the ensuing eight years, grow the welcoming space she imagined.

Her goal was to create a positive, friendly, comfortable environment where people could rest, relax, and enjoy taking care of themselves. Inspired by her mum’s love of roses and her dad’s passion for rowing, a sweet but subtle nod to Lucy’s parents can be found in the name, Rose + River.
